Trump To HIV/AIDS Council: Merry Christmas, You’re Fired

After a half dozen members of the HIV/AIDS council resigned a few months ago in protest of the White House’s lack of direction, President Trump fired the remaining members.

PACHA, the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS, was created in 1995 and includes public health officials, researchers, health care providers, faith leavers, HIV advocates and people living with HIV. Its helps inform the National HIV/AIDS Strategy, which was last revised in 2015 under President Barack Obama.

The firing shows a consistent trend by the president to “undo” anything the Clintons and Obamas have put into play, a political move that many critics are saying does not reflect his oath to serve the people of the United States.
